IMET2000 is supports a show by the UK comedian Mark Thomas and has sent us the following details:

“As the most long-serving and active Patron of the charity The International Medical Education Trust 2000 (IMET2000),  Mark Thomas has kindly offered to stream this show ‘Showtime from the Frontline’ with 20% of the income coming to the charity to support our child mental health programmes in Palestine and Lebanon (www.imet2000.org). IMET2000 is one of four charities working in Palestine that Mark has chosen to support in this way. IMET2000 is dedicated to the higher education and training of all professionals treating physical and mental trauma in child victims of violent conflict, extreme poverty or natural disasters. The latest disaster of course is the COVID-19 pandemic which we fear will dramatically increase the need for our clinical mental health services in Palestine, especially in the refugee camps after lockdown is lifted. Mark has worked on many comedy and theatre projects in Palestine with the support of IMET2000 particularly in establishing the Jenin Comedy Club as we view comedy as  one important thread in maintaining a healthy psycho-social fabric in difficult circumstances. This culminated in the hugely successful UK tour of ‘Showtime from the Frontline’. What he and Dr Sam Beale and their Palestinian colleagues are achieving with our continued support is amazing..

The show opens with a live introduction from Mark Thomas before the recording and is followed by a live Q&A with Mark, Sam Beale and the two Palestinian comedians Faisal Abu Alhayjaa and Alaa Shehada. We applaud Sam for her ability to encourage young people to perform and Mark  and his Palestinian colleagues for a wonderful show.  We hope you will enjoy this great on-line experience.

Tickets cost £5 and can be purchased via this link  IMET2000 http://gofasterstripe.com/cgi-bin/website.cgi?aff=41161&id=41015. A few people have found the link a bit difficult to navigate and make a simple ticket purchase. Click on the link, go straight to the basket, fill in details needed then go to the Pay Pal page and use the credit/debit card option if you are not signed up with Pay Pal. That works well and your e-ticket appears on your computer within minutes!

After buying your ticket, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with a link to a private YouTube channel and the charity IMET2000 will then get 20% of your ticket cost. All proceeds for IMET2000 will go toward our child mental health programmes in Palestine or Palestinian refugee camps wherever situated.”

So, please read about IMET2000 on the above links and buy tickets for the show using the links above.

Many thanks!
